Parenting Time & Divorce Mediation
Parenting Time Mediation
Our Domestic Relations mediators are specifically trained and experienced in helping families work together to create new parenting time agreements, custodial issues, revise current court-ordered plans, or create a plan for making up missed time with the help of a trained mediator.
Conflicts may arise regarding communication, schedule changes, transportation responsibilities, shuttling the child’s clothing or toys back and forth, and vacations and extracurricular activities. In these cases, one parent may feel they have been denied their court-ordered parenting time, and a mediator can help families work together to find a solution. If the issue is resolved, the mediator will write up an agreement that the parties can sign and submit to the court if appropriate.
Divorce Mediation
Divorce mediation is an alternative and/or an addition to the dispute resolution process that allows divorcing couples to work on negotiating a mutually acceptable agreement with the help of a neutral mediator.
A mediator does not have the authority to make decisions. Instead, a mediator works in a neutral capacity to facilitate agreement on any disputed financial or co-parenting issues.
The mediator will help both parties to understand the priorities and issues involved in the divorce, clear up any misconceptions, and write a legally binding agreement to reach a resolution.
