Volunteer Mediator Application

To serve as a mediator, the State of Michigan requires that you receive 48‐hours of formal training. The training will be held at a location to be determined in Marquette. If chosen as a mediator, you will be required to attend all of the training sessions as scheduled below, and complete an additional 8‐hour Domestic Violence training to be held at a future date in Marquette. Please review the dates and times carefully. Please note that all sessions are required to complete the 48‐hour training.

Fall 2019 Training Schedule

Saturday, November 2 - 8:30am-5:00pm
Sunday, November 3 - 8:30-5:00pm
Friday, November 8- 8:30am-5:00pm
Saturday, November 9 - 8:30am-5:00pm
Sunday, November 10 - 8:30am-5:00pm
Thursday - November 14 - 8:30am-5:00pm

Training fee: $100 for those agreeing to serve as a volunteer mediator for MARS for at least one year. (The typical cost for this training across the State ranges from $700-1200 per person) All materials and some snacks will be provided. Lunch will be on your own each of the 6 days.
